FY26 Space Research Institute Center, Program, Initiative (CPI)
The Space Research Institute (SRI) is now accepting proposals for its Centers, Programs, and Initiatives (CPI) funding process. This tiered approach is designed to support space research growth and collaboration across Georgia Tech.
The CPI process is open to all academic faculty, research faculty, and staff from any Georgia Tech College, The Georgia Tech Research Institute, or the Enterprise Innovation Institute.
This funding opportunity is available at all three tiers:
- Initiatives – entry-level projects designed to test new ideas.
- Programs – mid-stage efforts that must have successfully completed at least one year as an Initiative.
- Centers – advanced projects that demonstrate sustained growth and impact, including at least two rounds of substantial (>$500,000) external funding from industry, government, or philanthropy.
The CPI framework is designed to help promising ideas grow into large-scale, sustainable research endeavors that drive innovation and impact.
Submission Deadline: September 30, 2025
Core Facilities Seed Grant Program
The Georgia Tech Institute for Matter and Systems (IMS) is an Interdisciplinary Research Institute (IRI) comprised of faculty and students who leverage state-of-the-art facilities and expert technical staff to create systems for solving societal, technological, and scientific challenges. Applications of this research span all disciplines in science and engineering with particular emphasis on microelectronics, the built environment, human-centric technologies, and frontiers in research infrastructure.
As there can be a learning curve associated with initial proof-of-concept development and testing using unfamiliar tools and techniques, this seed grant program was developed to expedite the initiation of graduate students and new research projects into productive activity. Successful proposals to this program will identify a new, currently-unfunded research idea that requires core facility access to generate preliminary data necessary to pursue other funding avenues.
Applications Due: October 1, 2025.
